If I have a choice about how to do my star gazing, it would obviously be with a rocket. While this one will not allow you to do it from space, its 375x magnification will make you feel like you are there. And when you aren’t checking out distant planets you can slap its nose cone back on and set it upright like it is ready for launch. All you need is a countdown and a smoke machine to have the ultimate telescope.

Being an amateur astronomer with over 20 years of experience, I can tell you that this is bad advertizing. Such a small instrument can not reasonably reach 375x magnification: at most MAYBE 180x, but the image will be fuzzy at best — beyond that, it is bigger, yes, but nothing but a blur.
For just a few dollars more, people can get a serious telescope, and I would recommend brands such as SkyWatcher, Celestron or Meade.
Note, however, that having a telescope is useless if you don’t know what to point it at: so the best thing for a beginner is really a BOOK!
Good night,
