Edmonton, Canada resident Jessie Seitz is a big Wolverine fan, and has started a petition to have a statue of the hero erected somewhere in town (no doubt inspired by the success of Detroit’s RoboCop statue campaign). The petition at change.org states:
City Council/Mayor Don Iveson
Please consider the opinions of the citizens who have signed this petition towards the creation of a life sized Wolverine statue to be placed somewhere in this great city of Edmonton to be viewed by all who live here and visit, as Wolverine is a Canadian and Albertan symbol of strength, perseverance in the face of tragedy, and overall heroics.
It’s short, sweet, and to the point and has already collected quite a bit of support. Seitz thinks the local City Hall would be a great location for the statue, but is open to other locations like Churchill Square or the Alberta Legislature Grounds. I’d so plan a trip to Edmonton just to see Wolverine, claws bared, standing outside City Hall.
