The automotive monstrosity that’s pictured above is the called the 7-Eleven Limited Evangelion Orochi. Yes, it looks like a Technicolor, acid-induced nightmare, but it’s also the most expensive item that 7-Eleven has ever put up for sale.
The car’s design is based on the Neon Genesis Evangelion anime and was created by the Japanese car manufacturer Mitsuoka. According to Sankei News the going price is 16 million yen (US$138,819). As you can probably guess, 7-Eleven has only put one of these cars up for sale. If you’d like to buy the car, you can enter a raffle to purchase it at 7-Elevens throughout Japan from November 14 to November 30.
On a related note, this isn’t the first expensive Evangelion-themed item that 7-Eleven has offered. Earlier this year the company sold these $18,000 Evangelion Statues in Japan and they were gone within minutes.
