Carrie Fisher Confirms She’s Back As Princess Leia In New “Star Wars”

She may have been unwilling to give up the location of the secret rebel base, but she’s perfectly happy to confirm her return in the next Star Wars movie. Carrie Fisher let loose the news in a recent interview with Palm Beach Illustrated.

Disney is going to continue the Star Wars saga, producing movies set to hit theaters starting in 2015. Can you confirm whether you’ll reprise the role of Princess Leia?

A definite, one-word answer that has fans everywhere squealing in delight. Then they asked her the follow-up question that you know you wanted to ask, too.

And still wearing the bagel buns?

The bagel buns and the bikini, because probably she has sundowners syndrome. At sundown, she thinks that she’s 20-something. And she puts it on and gets institutionalized.

Really, I don’t care what she does with her hair or how well that metal bikini fits. The important part is that Princess Leia is back!

UPDATE: A rep for Fisher told CNN that “she was joking” with regard to her return as Princess Leia. While that wouldn’t be surprising, it could also be simple backtracking. Mark Hamill recently revealed that the powers-that-be were talking to the cast about reuniting, so it seems like this is the direction that they want to go in.
