Rumor has it that Harrison Ford has officially signed up to reprise his role as Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode VII.
The news comes via Latino Review, who have a reputation for accuracy on movie scoops such as these.
Of course, this news isn’t completely shocking—back in November it was reported that Ford would consider suiting up as Solo again as long as he gets the death scene he thought should have happened in Return of the Jedi. Whether or not that was part of the deal is unclear, but if the rumor is true, we bet that the addition of J.J. Abrams and a generous payday helped to grease the wheels a bit.
It’s also important to point out that Entertainment Weekly’s Geoff Boucher has refuted the news, stating on Twitter that his sources claim no deal has been made and that “it will not be for weeks and perhaps months”.
Either way, it seems that Ford is on board. This would also mean that Carrie Fisher and Mark Hamill might have deals in the works.
