Since the release of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog in 2008, fans have been salivating for a sequel. I was completely charmed by the super villain musical comedy, as were many others. Writer and director Joss Whedon has been teasing us about a follow-up, but he’s been occupied with little movies like The Avengers. and side projects like Much Ado About Nothing. He’s hoping to change that soon and begin working on the Dr. Horrible sequel this summer.
In an interview with Wired at SXSW, Whedon stated:
“We are hard on it. It’s been a really tough year — couple of years — partially, I’m happy to say, because of work.”
“We’re stuck, basically, at this one part in the process,” Whedon said. “All of us are looking at this summer as the time when we can go, ‘Hey, you know what? We’ve got a little free time, let’s get unstuck.’ Neil has been like, ‘How long?’ We’re all sort of just waiting, but the waiting will stop.”
I’m excited, but we’ve been hearing about a sequel for a while. Much like the possibility of a Firefly revival, I’ll believe it when it actually happens.
