‘Cowboy Bebop’ Is Getting An American Live-Action TV Series

Live-action anime continues to be all the rage with news that Tomorrow Studios is partnering with Midnight Radio to produce a Cowboy Bebop television series for American audiences. It comes with the blessing of Sunrise, the studio behind the original series.

What’s more, Deadline reveals that Chris Yost (Thor: The Dark World, Thor: Ragnarok), will pen the adaptation. Naturally, Tomorrow Studios’ Marty Adelstein is pumped about the project:

“We are excited to work with Sunrise in bringing this beloved anime to the U.S. and global marketplace as a live-action series,” said Adelstein. “The animated version has long resonated with audiences worldwide, and with the continued, ever growing, popularity of anime, we believe a live action version will have an incredible impact today.”

There aren’t any details beyond this, but even if you aren’t familiar with the anime, know that a live-action Cowboy Bebop could be a very good thing for people that miss Firefly and enjoy Jazz. We’ll be very interested to see who they cast for this.
