Astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson recently hosted Cosmos, and he’s getting ready to tackle a different kind of television show. The science personality will be hosting a late night series on the National Geographic channel. Titled Star Talk, the show is modeled on Tyson’s popular podcast of the same name. The podcast blends science and pop culture together into a tasty and educational treat, and Tyson will endeavor to keep that alive in the television series.
The Hollywood Reporter states:
The weekly series, inspired both in name and context by longtime radio show Car Talk, will tape before a live studio audience from the American Museum of Natural History’s Hayden Planetarium in New York City, where Tyson is based. The series’ April debut is slated to air alongside one-hour special Hubble’s Cosmic Journey.
If that wasn’t enough, each show will include a minute long rant by Bill Nye. I’ll go ahead and add it to my TiVo’s recording list now.
