The word “vertical” pops up a lot these days when it comes to mouse design. Apparently, it helps alleviate the pain associated with carpal tunnel syndrome.
The latest mouse to feature a vertical design was unveiled at CeBIT ’06. The Wowpen, as it is called, has the following features:
Ergonomic design
Wireless functionality
Compact RF receiver and charging cradle
Pen type performance
$49.99 price tag
It’s not something hardcore PC gamers would be interested in, but if you suffer from carpal tunnel it may be a viable solution. I can also see a market for this type of device among graphic designers and other artists who may use the PC as a medium for their work.
