Take away the silly glasses, clown feet and mustaches, then add a drill arm, lights and an air tank and you’ve got the best Mr. Potato Head ever created. This fantastic mash-up with Bioshock is the work of Ginger Troll and makes me want to steal my kids’ toys and see if I can make one, too. Sure, it might scar them for life to find this in their toy box, but it would be totally worth it.
Before BioShock 1 and BioShock 2 an important event took place in Rapture. “In the lowest parts of the city, a small group of splicers have something planned that will change the course of Andrew Ryan’s vision of utopia.” And now a fan film, New Year’s End, gives you a peek at this historical moment. The film is exceptionally well done – nice acting, props, lighting, everything – and it managed to creep me right out.
Feast your eyes on this beautiful Bioshock case mod by Gregory Mórocz. Dubbed “Welcome to Rapture”, the case takes its design cues from an antique radio. It took several years to build and, by the looks of things, the effort was more than worth it.
NECA has teamed up with BioShock Infinite creators Irrational Games to produce full scale Sky-Hook replicas.
While the production versions won’t be available for a while yet, Irrational Games is giving away a prototype version shipped in an exclusive custom-built box. For a chance to win, all you need to do is follow @IrrationalGames on twitter and retweet the contest announcement.
There’s no word on when the contest will end, but I wouldn’t wait around too long.
If you’re as curious as I am about Bioshock 3 aka Bioshock: Infinite, then getting a look at the new action figures from NECA will give you a little thrill.
The Ladysmith Splicer looks familiar, but the Brute Splicer and the Crawler Splicer definitely have that more Steampunk edge we saw in that amazing trailer a while back.
Irrational Games, the studio behind the original BioShock has previewed an effort that is 3 years in the making—BioShock Infinite.
The game is set in 1912 and takes us out of Rapture and up to Columbia—a floating city in the clouds. It’s like the movie UP—if it was a first person shooter. It’s due out for the Xbox 360 sometime in 2012.
Jason Voorhees is more than just a cold-blooded killer. Deep down inside, all he wants to be is an artist. Unfortunately, it took a long time before he realized trees were better than sexy young teenagers for making Big Daddy sculptures.
Now you can cuddle up with the same doll seen dangling from the hand of a Little Sister in the first BioShock 2 teaser trailer. It was made from discarded items found in Rapture, so make sure to update your tetanus shots.
