This isn’t the first Star Wars-themed wedding, but it’s the only one that I can recall that involved a woman and a Droid.
During the Star Wars Celebration V event in Orlando last week, StarWars.com writer Bonnie Burton tied the knot with R2-D2 after a whirlwind courtship (C3-PO was reportedly crushed).
At any rate, the bride was given away by Steve Sansweet, Lucasfilm Director of Fan Relations. The ceremony was presided over by Darth Maul, R2-KT was the flower girl and Adrianne Curry was the Maid of Honor.
The ceremony can now be viewed in its entirety on StarWars.com.
From That’s Nerdalicious! There are some awesome products coming out of Star Wars Celebration V this year, and this Stormtrooper insulated thermos is definitely a testament to that.
However, if beer is your drink, there’s also a Hoth Brewing Company mug. Both items are exclusive to the Star Wars Shop and will ship on August 30th.
Lego had a major presence at the Star Wars Celebration V event this year, and the big draw was this 15-foot wide mural that was constructed with the help of attendees.
Fans that helped build the mural would receive a limited edition Boba Fett figure. Lego also donated more than 1.5 million bricks to St. Jude Children’s hospital as part of the event. Check out the time-lapse video of the construction after the break.
Our good friend the Geek Girl Diva just turned us on to something truly awesome—a Jon Stewart Stromtrooper figure created especially for his appearance at the Star Wars Celebration V convention. The lucky bastard even got the one-off figure presented to him by none other than George Lucas himself.
As you will see after the break, it even comes with goatee and non-goatee interchangeable heads with Kung-Fu eyebrow lift!
