Robert Downey Jr. is putting his considerable talents to the test as the voice Mr. Peanut 2.0. The change is part of a 21st century makeover that will debut this holiday.
Beyond the voice, the new Peanut is pretty unremarkable—the top hat, monocle and cane are all there but he’s wearing a jacket now. Still not classy enough to wear pants though.
I kind of always expected Mr. Peanut to be British actually, so it’s kind of odd that Downey Jr. is using his regular voice. Maybe he didn’t think that was part of the character’s essence during the months it most have taken to prepare for this role.
