I believe that the second season of Stranger Things was initially slated to arrive on Halloween, but Netflix has announced that the official premiere has been moved up to October 27th. Netflix also added an awesome poster and teaser to go along with the news. Check out the entire poster and the teaser below. [click to continue…]
Funko has unveiled a whole mess of new Stranger Things-related toys, including Mystery Minis, plushes and a second wave of Pop figures. Most of those items are available to pre-order on Entertainment Earth, but Firebox has an exclusive Upside Down snow globe that is sure to be a creepy addition to your Christmas decor. The image above is a mock-up of upcoming Stranger Things 7-inch action figures from McFarlane Toys that are available to pre-order now for a November release. At this point, we only know about Eleven and Chief Hopper, but we assume additional characters will be revealed (hopefully before the premiere of Season 2, which arrives on Halloween). Suddenly, owning a car with a cassette player isn’t depressing! That’s because you’ll be able to play this Stranger Things soundtrack release featuring the score by Kyle Dixon and Michael Stein of the band Survive. Mystery Science Theater 3000 is back with their new Netflix show, and I have to say that I’ve really enjoyed the episodes that I’ve seen so far. It really captures everything I loved about the original. As you’ll see in the video below, despite being cancelled twice, they aren’t afraid to bite the hand that feeds them. Though, I’m surprised that it’s Stranger Things and not any one of their Adam Sandler movies. [click to continue…]
Not interested in watching the Super Bowl? Well, you might want to check in on the commercials because Entertainment Weekly reports that Netflix will debut a teaser for the second season of Stranger Things during the game. The image above featuring the gang sporting Ghostbusters costumes for Halloween (which is perfect since the season takes place in 1984) is from that teaser.
Details are scarce, but executive producer Shawn Levy did offer the following tidbit to EW:
“The Demogorgon was destroyed but evil wasn’t.”

Artist Michael Maher Jr. created this fantastic Star Wars mashup featuring the kids from Stranger Things. You may have heard that Millie Bobby Brown has expressed a desire to play a young Leia—and this illustration definitely supports that idea.
However, Gaten Matarazzo as Chewbacca is the star of the show here. Some might consider that insulting, but the fact is that Dustin and Chewie are both lovable, awesome and steal pretty much every scene they’re in. [click to continue…]
It seems as though the response to the initial Stranger Things Pop collection was strong enough (duh) for Funko to continue adding characters. Joyce is first up on that list and we suspect that Chief Hopper isn’t far behind. I suppose Dr. Brenner might turn up sooner or later as well. Maaaaybe even Steve Harrington. Think about it—it could be a two-for-one Jean-Ralphio figure!
